Monitoring
Monitoring devices, such as smart air samplers, are strategically installed throughout the botanic gardens. These devices are positioned near high-density plant areas to capture airborne spores efficiently.

Research

Our ongoing research in the botanic gardens aims to bring about a deeper understanding of plant species and their ecosystems.
Periodically, the filters are retrieved, and the collected samples are carefully stored and transported for DNA extraction and analysis, ensuring accurate detection and monitoring of pathogens like myrtle rust.
Outreach
People learn through hands-on workshops where they explore biosecurity and plant health using real-world STEM applications. Activities include understanding diagnostic tools and engaging with conservation practices, etc.
